What is the fastest way to send money abroad?

Alipay transfers are instant. Once you’ve set up your transfer and completed the payment, your money will be delivered to the recipient’s account immediately.

Keep in mind that things like bank holidays or time differences can cause delays. That said, Azimo is much faster than most banks and money transfer shops. Plus, we keep you updated every step of the way.

How does Alipay work?

To send money with Alipay, you’ll need your recipient’s name and their Alipay ID (11 digits). Once your payment is complete, the recipient will receive the money instantly in one of two ways:

Alipay wallet:
The money will be delivered to an Alipay e-wallet, which your recipient can then use to make payments.
Bank transfer:
The money will be delivered to an Alipay e-wallet and sent to a linked bank account.

Please note, your recipient’s wallet must be linked to a bank account and international transfers must be enabled, otherwise Alipay will not be able to process your payment.

You’ll find instructions on how to link Alipay to a bank account here.

How much are money transfer fees?

The first two Azimo transfers are fee-free. After that, the exact amount will vary based on:
  • Where you are sending money to and from.
  • The amount that you want to send.

But no matter what, we'll always offer you the lowest rates - in most cases up to 75% lower than other transfer companies and banks!

How do I pay for my transfer?

Payment methods include:
  • Debit or credit card (Azimo card limit is 12,000 GBP/13,500 EUR)
  • Bank transfer via online banking (not available if you’re sending from Poland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden or Australia)
  • SOFORT if you’re sending from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy or Netherlands
  • Interac e-Transfer if you’re sending from Canada (not currently available to senders in Quebec)

How does Azimo protect my money?

As a regulated company, Azimo follows a strict set of rules set by financial institutions in the UK, EU, Australia and Canada.

Plus, we use anti-fraud and encryption technology to keep your account – and your money – secure. That includes an extra layer of security and technology to detect and monitor any unusual activity.
